Welcome! I’m Karen Rose Smith.
I write romance, mystery, and women’s fiction. My 113th novel (that’s right, 113), CLOSE THE BOOK ON MURDER, will be published on March 30, 2027.
Besides writing, my passion is caring for my five rescued cats—Zoie Joy, Miss Paddington, siblings Freya and Zander…as well as Bonnie who has a cozy apartment in our basement. We still hope to integrate her with our other cats some time in the future. For now she’s content in her corner of the world.
My hobbies still are gardening in the summer and cooking in the winter.
An only child, I’ve always delved into books as an escape. But as part of a large Italian family, I had cousins and relatives around me often. Families are a strong theme in my novels, both mysteries and romances.
